The Timaru branch of Mainland Driving School is based at 22 Sheffield Road in Washdyke (the same premises that ProDriver operated from).
If you can’t make it into the branch, no problem - we can come to you. We're able to run courses anywhere in mid- to South Canterbury, including the Mackenzie Country, and as far south as North Otago.

NZTA Approved
Mainland Driving School has been providing NZTA approved vehicle licensing and endorsement courses in Timaru since 2021, taking over from ProDriver who closed their doors after 17 years.
We have been fortunate to have kept on ProDriver’s Pam Burbery as the Office Administrator, whilst also building a great team of local trainers – see below to meet our Timaru team.
We have our own Class 2 and 4 trucks and a forklift on site.

Paul Scott
Trainer/Assessor
Paul has spent the last 20+ years in earthmoving, operating diggers, graders, truck & trailers. Other work has included Forklift driving, interstate & road train driving and also working in the mining industry in Australia. In his spare time, Paul enjoys riding trail and road bikes, four-wheel driving, boating and drinking non-craft beers.
Bob Brighton
Traner/Assessor
Bob has spent the last 25 years in the training sector, mainly engineering and Forklift operator training. He was a heavy diesel mechanic and workshop manager in the Scottish Forest Industry. In his spare-time he enjoys fly fishing and time with his grandchildren.
Pam Burbery
Admin
Pam is the administrator in Timaru and although has been with Mainland for a short time, she has been in the education/training sector for 15 years. She enjoys time with her family and friends and the outdoors.
