While some drivers may have completed some elements of stress and fatigue management during their licence training, the full fatigue management course looks at drivers who work on shifts and/or outside of ‘regular’ work hours. The programme was developed with the help of the Wellington School of Medicine and can be beneficial to both drivers and operations staff."
The course covers:
• Identify the causes and symptoms of fatigue, and the effects on driving performance
• Describe life management skills and work-related measures that can be implemented to prevent fatigue
• Identify the work time requirements and the penalties prescribed by law
• Identify driver logbook requirements and associated penalties prescribed by law
• Complete driver logbook entries
This is a 4-hour theory course and the drivers can be assessed on Unit Standard 24089.
